File created by MapGuide Author, a program used to design maps using CAD and GIS data; contains map descriptions, such as name, styles, colors, layer settings, and a source data server address; used for storing map configurations and contacting Autodesk MapGuide servers to download and display map data.

MWF files generally do not store spatial data; they only specify how to display the data; MWF files are saved in binary format and may be exported in XML format to .MWX files.
